This summer round up your closest friends and hit the road! Vacations are great to rejuvenate and take a break from life’s chaos. What better way to reconnect than with your fab friends? Here are a few of my favorite destinations for a girlfriend getaway:
Charleston, SC
As a Carolina girl, I love Charleston for a quick escape. Charleston offers a southern beach feel with an amazing food scene. The historic sites compliment the city and help slow you down. The Vendue Inn is a great place to sleep while the Husk is a fantastic locally sourced eatery.
New Orleans, LA
New Orleans is my favorite U.S. city. I even named my dog after the bayou city. This destination is perfect for girls that want to get away and let loose! There is something for everyone. Start in the French Quarter and load up on beignets at Café Du Monde. Then walk a few steps for palm readings and horse carriage rides. New Orleans is a haunted city so be sure to take in the night walking tours and even stay at the famed Le Pavillion Hotel.
Nashville, TN
Nashville is a lovely little city with a big music scene. There are endless things to do for country and blues music lovers. Do you and your girls love to sing and shake it? Visit the Grand Ole Oprey for a show. Want some southern comfort food? Take a drive to the Loveless Café and don’t miss the biscuits!
Don’t let the summer pass you by! Gather up the girls and hit the road. Discover what is new nearby or take an adventure far away. As long as you are with your girlfriends, this getaway can’t fail!
Great blog, Miss V! It’s easy enough to research popular places to visit online, or with a travel agency, and come up with a plethera of tourist spots, descriptions, contacts, and even directions. How much better though, to get a warm recomendation from someone who has either personally been there, or has first-hand knowledge of these perfect get-a-ways! Great information!
New Orleans, hands down is the best getaway for me. The cultural environment itself just puts me in a inspirational mood. Feels like I’m inside a story that once written as a kid.
Being a Mississippi country boy, any place is a getaway, as long as I’m far away from home.
