We have all been there. Feeling like stress is coming from every direction is not an uncommon experience for busy women. Managing stress is just as important to your health as physical activity and eating right. Try these tips on de-stressing and start feeling the good vibes when you need it most.
Make your Lunch Hour Sunnier
I have to admit to being one of those people who grabs lunch and keeps working at my desk. Getting a break during the day is really a great way to de-stress from work. Try getting out and feel the sun hit your face while eating lunch. Even taking a short walk can ease tension and anxiety.
What’s Your Trigger?
Stress can often be associated with types of situations and activities. Take time to note what stresses you out and why. Then, simply try to reduce exposing yourself to those things. Do things like messy rooms and desks stress you? Make a plan to keep your space tidy to reduce your own stress. Do you get stressed on your morning commute? Try taking a new route that’s more scenic or leaving earlier.
Get some zzzZZZzzz’s
Are you sleeping enough? Those late nights working or staying up watching cat videos can really zap your energy. Quality of sleep affects your mood and can lead to your stress levels being high. Try using a sleep quality app that tracks data about your sleeping habits.
Make a Tea
I am a big fan of tea. A cup of chamomile based tea will help ease stress almost immediately. Make your own special blend by picking up whole herbs at a farmers market. Try out this de-stress blend below!
De-Stress & Reset Tea Blend
2 parts chamomile
1 part lavender
1 part peppermint
Mix all ingredients and store loosely in a sealed container.
Steep in hot water using fillable tea bags or a tea ball.
Sit back, relax and let the stress leave your body.
